La Femme Fantastique on Display through Oct. 28

“At a minimum, these archetypal goddesses are a useful shorthand for describing and thus analyzing many behavior patterns and personality traits. At a maximum, they are ways of envisioning and thus calling up needed strengths and qualities within ourselves.”
- Gloria Steinem

The huntress. The lover. The maiden. The mother. The mystic. The queen. The sage. Which are you?

Celebrated across cultures and throughout history, the seven female archetypes are based on the habits and behaviors associated with the Greek goddesses.

Omaha artists Josh Audiss and Shelby Audiss have created a series of works inspired by the seven female archetypes in “La Femme Fantastique” opening Friday, Oct. 6, at Ming Toy Gallery. The opening reception is from 6:00 to 10:00pm at 6066 Maple Street in conjunction with Benson First Friday.

“La Femme Fantastique” runs through Oct. 28 at Ming Toy Gallery. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday and Friday from noon to 5:00pm, Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm and by appointment.
